RiverGlass supports the needs of intelligence analysts, investigators and first responders by making it possible to maintain awareness of critical, dynamic situations and to study and collaborate with others to arrive at knowledge-driven decisions.
RiverGlass Solutions for Fusion Centers enables users to take on the problem of dealing with massive amounts of data from different sources, head on. It automates mundane tasks of searching and gathering meaningful data based on understanding of the user’s role, task, mission/case and environment.
RiverGlass is widely recognized as the first software vendor to address the mission-critical needs of law enforcement agencies and intelligence-gathering centers. We developed technology solutions in close collaboration with Fusion Center analysts and Command staff to address several problems:
- Data Explosion – Ever-expanding amounts of information reside on internal systems, records databases, web sites, social networking sites, public records, news feeds, tweets, blog postings and more.
- Analyst Productivity – Law enforcements and intelligence professionals spend more than 80% of their time just finding relevant data. They are left with little time to use the information for strategic initiatives.
- Information Overload – Once found, there is too much text and data for a human to consume.
RiverGlass’ meaning-based approach goes beyond keyword search and content tagging into the real meaning of unstructured text data so information truly relevant to individual interests and legal context is located; key entities (peoples, places, events, etc.) are identified within found content and; the relationship among those entities, as it relates to topics of interest, is understood.
Intelligence agencies turn to RiverGlass for "open source" search, collection and analysis for threat detection, defense organizations and executive leadership entities use RiverGlass for situational awareness, both supporting decision making in command and control.
Law enforcement agencies benefit from our data fusion solutions in
- counter narcotics
- counter terrorism
- violent and internet predator crimes
- other information-critical endeavors
RiverGlass and the Statewide Terrorism Intelligence Center (STIC) of the Illinois State Police have jointly developed a suite of tools tailored to the specific needs of analysts working in a fusion center environment. Along with unique visualizations and analytics, this collaboration has produced a knowledge base of more than 85,000 highly relevant terms – to both enhance and simplify analytical results. This RiverGlass public safety ontology contains data definitions of the entities important to a fully-compliant extension of the Global Justice XML standard.
The end result is an analytics solution specifically geared toward fusion centers and other government intelligence agencies, enabling you to gain and maintain a complete intelligence picture, 24/7.
